Band Chorus Electives

At Seaford High School, students explore and develop their musical talents through a variety of offerings, including choral classes, instrumental ensembles, and music theory courses. Our program fosters creativity, discipline, and a deep appreciation for music while examining the role of the arts in shaping cultures. Students engage in both ensemble and solo performances, utilizing traditional instruments alongside modern instruments and technology to enhance their musical experience.

Forms/Documents

Medical Information Packet

All incoming freshmen must complete this packet. A copy of an updated insurance card must be attached on the second page. If you wish for your child to take any type of medication while on a trip, page 3 must be filled out and signed by a licensed doctor. If you wish to decline, just check off "Decline" on the bottom of the page.

Current students only need to send in a new copy if anything has changed with their medical information.

The purpose of the Handbook is to provide valuable information about the Band Program. Members should familiarize themselves with the regulations and procedures and traditions of the band. It also includes grading criteria, along with extra credit information. You are responsible for all information and policies contained within this Handbook.

Reminders for Bandcamp:

-Must wear socks and sneakers (no flip-flops, crocs, or open-toed shoes)

-Eat breakfast beforehand

-Bring: water, hat, sunscreen

-Freshman bring a combo lock for locker

-Check website for day-to-day activities

NYSSMA

Performing a solo, or an ensemble, piece in front of an adjudicator is an amazing experience. We strongly suggest doing this to enhance your musical experiences. To be as helpful as we can, we have put all information on the band website under the “NYSSMA” link. Personal practice and hard work help achieve a positive experience. It is your responsibility to make appointments with us to work on your solo. We have designated times throughout the week, or just make appointments with us to practice. If you have any questions or comments, please contact us.

Please order your 2 originals of your solo (NO PHOTOCOPIES are allowed) as soon as possible to alleviate any problems in availability. If you have difficulty acquiring your music, please contact us as soon as possible.

Fundraising

Seaford High School Band Fundraising Information
There are two types of fundraisers:
"Individual"- These fundaisers benefit the individual student account.

The profit goes directly into the student's account to be used for trips, shoes, gloves, polos, etc.
"Group" - This fundraiser goes toward the group itself.

The profits are put toward the general band as far as equipment, supplies, instruments and music.
